Gloucester Rotary has
just completed this weekend a Year 10 Project for Students at
Gloucester High School.
RYSAP Rotary Self
Achievement Program
The weekend starts on
Friday afternoon with the 38 students settling in to their
accommodation which is in the school class rooms. They have a sleep
over on the Friday. Boys in one area and girls n another area of
course. They are looked after by our Rotarians who sleep over. The
sleep part is limited s they all giggle and chat till 2am even under
great threats.
They are a great bunch
of young people.
The games start on
Friday afternoon supervised by Rotarians. Then to the showers and
BBq tea.
Settle into the Hall
for hear the guest speakers. Talking about job interviews, Mental
Health, grooming and many other topics.
There is lots of time
put into getting them outside their comfort zones.
Saturday there are
further speakers and activities. Saturday evening the students and
Rotarians dress for a dinner party and dance. Held at the Uniting
Church Hall.
Here
the students are given advice on deportment, eating etiquette and
dancing.
It is a busy weekend
and the students are then collected from the dance by their parents.
